Three Ways You May Be Hiding

Are you hiding from the life you are meant to live? Want to know some of the ways we overwhelm our lives? Stop hiding and start living.

Are you hiding from the life you are meant to live?

If you are anything like the majority of the people I speak with, you are busy.

Very busy.

You are balancing a million things to find that later on that you left little or no time for yourself. You have a list of the many things you want to do or achieve in your life, but unfortunately, you just don’t have the time.  You have all these important responsibilities that prevent you from taking steps you know you must take in order to live a life that makes you feel truly fulfilled and joyous. You keep on thinking that maybe one day you will have the time to focus on yourself, but that day just keeps getting pushed further and further away.

Can you relate? I know that I can.

I spent years filling my days with overwhelm and busyness, never having a moment to sit down and have time for me. I would have these ideas or inspirations come to me and would quickly sweep them away because I didn’t have the time to pursue them. I felt stuck, and resigned myself to believe that I was just not meant to live a life that I was truly excited and passionate about. After all, there was just not enough time in a day for me to complete everything I needed to, plus take the risk of exploring these crazy ideas and inspirations.

Well, what if I told you that I thought you, like I was, are hiding?

That being busy is simply an easy excuse to avoid having to step into who you really are and having to take the risks that comes along with that acceptance.

That what you are feeling is fear and resistance, and busyness and overwhelm are positively clever ways you have constructed to avoid the truth of who you are and who you wish to be.

A truly brilliant system to keep you in the present, tuning into your dreams, and avoiding making them become a reality. After all, the busier you are, the less time you have for YOU.

So, do you want to know some of the ways that we create business and overwhelm in our lives?

  1. Constantly saying yes when other people need our help. – Okay, now I am not saying that you shouldn’t help people. On the contrary, I believe that serving others is what brings us our greatest joy, but not when serving others is at the expense of ourselves. What we have learned to do is to over-deliver to everyone else, leaving no time for ourselves and avoiding the truth of who we really are and what we desire.
  2. Inaccurately prioritizing what is really important. – There are definitely certain chores that need to get done, but honestly, is the world going to end if the dishes don’t get put away or the laundry waits another day. If you were to take an honest look at your days, I guarantee there are things that you make more important than they really are. We have learned to run around like crazy to avoid being still and feel what is in our hearts.
  3. Having to do everything ourselves. – If you don’t do it yourself, it won’t get done correctly, right? Wrong! I mean, think about it. Are you the only one in the world who has to do the things you do? Is what you are doing really that complicated? Now, unless you are performing brain surgery all day every day, my guess is that you could delegate. Even if some things were done incorrectly, does it really matter? Refusing to give up control is simply another clever way we have created to avoid having the time to carry out our dreams.

So now, are you hiding?

Are you hiding from yourself? Your true purpose? The whisperings of your heart calling out to you to listen?

Are you hiding from the life you are meant to live?

It’s time to stop hiding and start living.

With Love,
Jenn
